Ashe County Juusto Baked Cheese

Juusto is a buttery-flavored, flat and squeaky cheese originally made in Scandinavia – called “Juustopleipa” or “Ostbrod”, meaning “bread cheese”. We bake each piece to create a sweet caramelized, toasted crust similar to brown bread. To serve: Warm in oven, skillet or microwave until it glistens: cut in strips and serve as an appetizer with salsa, chutney or savory dips.
